Techno-economic assessment of wind power generation feasibility in Sabang
نویسندگان
چکیده
Utilization of renewable energy in Aceh is still limited mainly to small-scale electricity through micro-hydro and solar power plants, accounting for less than 1% the composition. Sabang stands out as a region with significant wind potential, boasting speed 8 m/s an average density 537 W/m2 windiest 10% region. Therefore, explore viability harnessing energy, pre-feasibility study needed. This aimed assess techno-economic feasibility constructing plant generation by evaluating region's energy. The statistical method Weibull Distribution probability function was employed evaluate Wind Power Density (WPD), Turbine Capacity Factor, Energy Output. Additionally, economic analysis involved calculating Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Internal Rate Return (IRR), Discounted Payback Period (DPP), Levelized (LCOE). results showed that exhibited favorable[UMN1] characteristics shape parameter (k) 1.6, (Vm) 7.9 m/s, scale (c) 9 m/s. These features classified class 6 WPD 735 watts/m2 at height 50 m, were categorized excellent. concluded using Enercon E-70 turbine hub 100m technically feasible. 9.3 11 reached 1213 W/m2, leading capacity factor 0.53 annual production (AEP) 64,876,560 kW. yielded promising projects. DPP value estimated 5.6 years, BCR 1.96, NPV amounted USD 14,434,994, IRR 17.9%, LCOE assessed 32.50/MWh. Considering all these indicators, it evident highly feasible financially viable

Economic evaluation of 12 MW grid-connected wind farms and PV power plants in two regions in Northern Cyprus for electricity generation was investigated. The wind speed, sunshine duration, and solar global radiation characteristics were analyzed using monthly data collected over 17 years (2000-2016) for Girne and nine years (2008-2016) for Lefkoşa, which were measured at various heights. The re...

With the rapid depletion of fossil fuel reserves, it is feared that the world will soon run out of its energy resources. This is a matter of concern for developing countries whose economy heavily leans on its use of energy. Under the circumstances it is highly desirable that renewable energy resources should be utilized with maximum conversion efficiency to cope with the ever increasing energy ...
متن کاملTechno-economic Assessment of Biomass Pellets for Power Generation in India
Biomass pellet production has increased considerably in recent years, mainly due to the demand created by policies and bioenergy-use targets in the European Union (EU). Global biomass pellet production was 24.1 million tonne (Mt) in 2014. In this study, a preliminary attempt has been made to assess the techno-economic feasibility of biomass pellets for electricity generation in India produced f...
